General Responsibilities

Outreach

  • Develop, coordinate, and execute in-store events, including store tours, classes, vendor fairs, and special events.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute outreach events, such as health fairs and business expos, in collaboration with appropriate GMT staff.
  • Conduct relevant research related to the co-op and community to inform annual outreach plan.
  • Support and actively contribute to annual marketing strategies, calendar, budget, and materials for development of promotions and social media.
  • Manage communication with owners in consultation with GMT and Leads as appropriate.
  • Coordinate Public Relations strategies with CEO and act as PR and press contact for organization.

Development

    • Plan and manage projects within budget and timeline.
    • Assist in analyzing processes to develop Standard Operating Procedure documentation.
    • Coordinate implementation, upkeep, and communication of NCG Co+Efficient sustainability database program; coordinate for data delivery from New Pi stakeholders and share results to NCG partners and CEO.
    • Assist HR & General Management Team with implementing systems for onboarding and training, including the development of a passport system and ongoing professional development for staff.
    • Provide administrative support to CEO, including coordinating communication and strategy with GMT.

    Board of Directors Administrative Assistance

      • Support the CEO with the organization and coordination of BoD events, including monthly & annual co-op meetings, annual board retreats, and board elections.
      • Collaborate with CEO to provide BoD administrative assistance, including preparing agendas, providing documentation, and appropriate direction of email correspondence to the board.

      Other tasks as assigned by CEO

        Support Structure

        • Reports to CEO
        • Works closely with GMT
        • Collaborates with HR, Marketing, and Operations teams
        • Acts as liaison to Board of Directors
        • Provides excellent service to all customers, staff, and vendors

        Qualifications

        • Able to work independently.
        • Detail-oriented and organized.
        • Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.
        • Fluency with Microsoft Office suite, with intermediate to advanced understanding of MS Excel.
        • Comfortable and experienced at public speaking.
        • Professional writing experience, producing readable, easy-to-understand content tailored to a specific audience.
        • Experience in natural foods, local food systems, and/or community-facing organizations.
        • Experience working on or reporting to a Board of Directors preferred.
        • Experience working with retail cooperatives preferred.

        Physical Requirements:

        • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
        • Must be able to move up to 15 pounds at times.

        Other Requirements:

        • Ability to travel locally up to 15% often
        • Valid drivers license with clean driving record
